Dad's Truck

Carl Cagle

Memories of Dad -
My dad loved practical jokes- and so did the folks where he worked. For his birthday in 1974 - they made concrete wheels for his truck. Too funny!

Bud Camp (my cousin) shared these details:

I love this pic, my friend, school mate and coffee buddy, Jerry Mayo former owner of Synaflex tells this story on a regular basis. He laughes because he and Uncle Carl were great friends. I'll take this to coffee Monday morning to share with him and Larcas Mayo also employee of Synaflex. Neighbor across rd, Doug Martin worked in the offic with Uncle Carl, I'll share with him.

These tires or wheels were used on fork lifts. When they wore out they were sent to Synaflex for new rubber to be installed, Synaflex reconditioned them and returned to customer. The wheels had same lug hole pattern as Chevy truck. Uncle Carl thought it funny to that they would put them on his truck. He drove it to and from work for a week. What great advertising. Now we know where low riders first came from.
